From the offbeat mind of Tina Collins, Sing The Blues is an assortment of horrific accounts of fictional beasts and demons. These stories are not told with a sense of goodwill or pleasure. This is true horror; the kind of lives you wouldn't even wish on your mother-in-law.

The Breeders A breeding program run by an alien species.

Target Practice 'A kind of Black Widow', who doesn't steal and kill (directly). She just invites herself into other people's relationships.

Time-A-Wastin' A killer remembers how his mother used to smell on her deathbed; fruity with a hint of decay.

Up The Fundament A demon exacts her revenge on a misogynist ex by delivering a punishment fit for a king (of sorts).

Whispering Bunnies The story of a revengeful female ghost committed to searching out the relatives of those who drove her employers to hell.

For The Alpha Wolves parade a local 'drinking' hole outside a city. They're looking for prey to take home to the Alpha.

At Death's Door A prostitute had become a pain in the proverbial, using the hotel's facilities to run her sordid whoring business.

Bonus I Saw All Whose death is it anyway?

Each story, is part of a bigger picture, some of which has not even been written. This is just the middle of the end.

fundament
ˈfʌndəm(ə)nt

noun
1. the foundation or basis of something.
2.formal humorous
a person's buttocks or anus.

I didn’t love this book. I wanted to like it, but I didn’t. I agree with another reviewer that the stories need a little more fleshing out. They’re very quick reads, but perhaps a little too quick.

Also, I felt that the writing was best when it focused on the supernatural/paranormal or just the aspects of the story outside of the erotic parts. For me, the erotic portions missed some heat or fun or intrigue - something was missing. I can’t quite put my finger on it.

I realize that some of the stories and the sex were supposed to be cold and/or calculated so, from that perspective, it probably just wasn’t my cup of tea. But when I’ve read classic erotica, there was always a sense of doing something you shouldn’t, something overwhelmingly passionate or a just a good romp. The characters in this book had some humor/fun to them or darkness, but the sex lacked feeling (good or bad) for me. Maybe if there was a little bit more of a mixture of the cold/calculated erotica with something with a little more feeling (dark or otherwise), then I could get behind it more.

It is a quick read, though, and the stories get better as the book progresses in my opinion. The last two or three stories had potential, but they still fell a little short for me.

Sing The Blues Carnal Desires Meets Death edition by Tina Collins Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews

Very interesting to say the least. Recommended for those who are I to erotica.
I don't usually prefer dark erotica, but this book might get me to reconsider. The author describes scenes well. I don't know if it's just me, but I think she has some creative word choices such as "his particulars in particular." Much explicitness of both heterosexual and lesbian sex. Part of me felt redeemed by the revenge subplot.

I received this book in exchange for an honest review.
Sing the Blues was not exactly what I expected from the cover, but the blurb clearly identified it as a collection of dark erotic tales, and it definitely delivers. Some of the shorts are better than others, a couple I thought might be a bit too short and seemed more like a teaser to a fuller story, which you sometimes get in an anthology. It left me wanting more, so I will look for more of from this author in the future.
Sing the Blues is a collection of short stories, which I was not aware of right off of the hop so found myself confused. However, once I I realized it I was able to dive into each individual story and enjoy each and everyone one of them. The Author offers a variety of storytelling, providing something for everyone. From Aliens to Demons to Sex Slaves, Tina Collins takes the reader on several supernatural journeys, some scary, some erotic, and some just down right intriguing. The fantastic thing about a collection of stories is that it keeps the reader constantly entertained and on their feet, never allowing them to get bored with the story.I am now anxious to read her other books as well as any new ones that she will be releasing. Tina Collins writing style is unique, and interesting, by having a broad genre within her stories it is very easy for any type of reader to enjoy the stories. If you are an avid reader of horror, supernatural or erotica then I can safely say you should get a copy of this book, and if you are a fan of short stories then you should definitely get yourself a copy of this book.
I think there's a fine line between dominance scenes and rape. This book crossed into a grey area where I could see readers getting a bit uncomfortable. I think it's a good attempt but could use some work. Definitely a unique writing style.
This collection is exactly what the author said, an erotic anthology. If erotica is your thing, then this collection delivers, in an impersonal, objectified manner. The stories were all different, but they all had the unmistakable theme of power and dominance, told in the first person. If you want to be scared sh..less while being turned on, then this is the book for you. Enjoy!
Normally this isn’t a book I’d read. Not my cup of tea on the genre.
HOWEVER...

I find some reviews about this book to be a little exaggerated on the negative side and also completely missing the point of the book.

These are short stories. DO NOT get attached to the characters by any means as you will get a quick read before jumping into a completely different story.

Getting that out of the way I must say the reads were cleverly written and well thought out. The descriptive details made me feel like I was there and the author did a great job making me feel different emotions on every story. Anger, frustration, and of course the “carnal desires” elements.

If you’re looking for a quick read and entertain yourself for a little while with quick stories that get to the point, this book is for you. If you want a long story and want to feel attachment to characters perhaps this won’t do that for you.

To conclude, the author has a ton of potential if she ever decided to write a longer book and flesh out the characters.
