I have read almost everything this author has written and have enjoyed the plots, characters and style. That holds true for this novella with one exception the grammar errors in the French phrases. For example, in chapter 1 the phrase "If you survive" is expressed as " Si toi survivre," which should be "Si tu survis." In a later chapter a woman says "Je suis vivant" instead of "vivante." The conversations between two French people contain incorrect agreement of subject and verb as well as noun/pronoun and adjective agreement. I was surprised that the author did not confirm the phrasing before submission of the manuscript.
For honest review. This writer can draw you in with her written words . This story has you flowing along a women kills to find out who killered her family. Great job.
Whiteout starts as a blizzard bears down on the East Coast. Detective Taylor Jackson is a Homicide detective with the Nashville Metro Police and is taking the place of her fiance, John Baldwin, to be a speaker at the Freedom Conference since he was on another case and couldn't get away. Every year the conference gathers a small group of intelligence people from across the globe to share information and tools, including cyber intelligence. By the time Detective Jackson arrives where the conference is to be held the snow is coming down hard and she feels lucky to have gotten there before flights are cancelled and/or airports shut down.
Cherry Gregg is the conference chairwoman and has her hands full when the electricity goes and backup generators run out of gas. By this time the storm is at full strength and all roads are closed...nobody going anywhere. Add to this no heat, no lights, a murder and a missing person...
Very enjoyable story and, for me, a great introduction to the Detective Taylor Jackson series. Detective Jackson is a no-nonsense cop, methodical, but willing to bend a few rules to get what she needs...think I'm a new fan of the series and can't wait to start reading book one. Received a copy of this novella free and my review is honest and voluntary.
Whiteout...I like the plot, almost all the characters a little polish for the main ones will be perfect.
Imagine, alone but with people around, do you know them? No where to go. AHHHHHH😨

Where to go, who'll be, we're going to be safe, what it wants, is one or more?
Questions, Questions...Answers and Police Work. A little more Research, please. But, I quite satisfied. A little move here and there will be necessary.
