This was one of the first books I bought when I originally got my Kindle... I just never got around to reading it.... shame on me!! Westerns aren't one of my favorite genres, too dry. But this is a tender story of a tomboy brought up by a widowed father who really doesn't under her body, love or passion who's suddenly married to a man w/definite bedroom skills. When the h starts to learn how wonderful her husband can make her body feel, she becomes bolder in the bedroom. Her new husband treats her w/love & respect, something rarely in her life.
Book isn't too long @ about 190 pages but the heat warms your heart even if the story is a bit simple. If you're looking for a cute western w/LOTS of martial heat w/a satisfying ending, this is worth both your time & $$$.

Wildflower edition by Lynda Bailey Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews

Decent writing but a bit boring and the characters have very little depth. Read for the sexual build-up and the country twang.
An unwilling bride and a reluctant groom with plenty of sparks. I loved the understanding and patience of the hero. Recommend to anyone that loves this genre.
I'm not a fan of erotica and probably wouldn't have read this story had I known of the erotic content. That said, the plot and story in the historical genre' was well done. The erotic parts slipped in naturally as part of the story details, and endeared the maligned husband to the reader. Because of the depth of the erotic details, I would not recommend this book to young readers. For those who enjoy the Harlequin style novelettes, this is a winner. I wouldn't be surprised if Harlequin pursued this author very soon.
This was not a terrible book. The sex was hot and the storyline interesting. The only reason I took off the two stars was because I could not stand the two characters being so obtuse they could not communicate their feelings to each other even though it was evident on both their parts that they cared deeply for each other. Other than that it is a terrific book.
This is a story set in 1882, Indian Territory. The H and h, Logan Cartwright and Matilda Townsend are coerced into marriage by her dying father. Logan was brought up in an orphanage in the city, after losing his parents and home at the age of nine. He has no desire to return to the city, but has been saving to set of for the Dakotas. Matilda a.k.a. Matt, lost her mother at the age of four, and was subsequently raised in a male dominated environment. She has her mind set on leaving for Kansas. Logan, who has been in love with Matt for some time, patiently and considerently woos Matt, who erroneously believes he is only interested in the homestead. However, other forces are at work to destroy their struggling life together. There were some steaming hot scenes, definitely NOT G- rated. Some grammatical errors, but these were easily overlooked as the pace of the story progressed to an eventual, but predictable HEA. I was also pleased there was no cliff hanger as so often happens lately with short stories.
I loved this story! Both Logan and Matt's(Matilda)characters build and grow in a believable way. Matt is so unsure of herself -- thinking she can never be seen as a woman since she'd always been a farm-hand to her father. Logan --*sigh* I lover Logan's patient, alpha character. He's slow to anger, but he won't allow Roscoe (the villain) or anyone to hurt Matt. Logan wants Matt - has since he first saw her - but he has honor.
I like that Matt is innocent but curious. She wants Logan and the fire between them burns hot!
The author did a good job of bringing the ranch to life. The dialogue is snappy and the pace is great. I kept reading much later into the night than I should have.
I don't want to give it all away, but if you like Westerns and like them hot, then I recommend this book.
In the grand tradition of westerns, "Wildflower" belongs to the group of the pioneering and strong men and women who tamed the Wild West. Logan Cartwright and Matilda Grace Townsend, the main characters of this story belong to this breed, though they are fictional characters.

Set in 1882 in the Indian Territory (I would hazard a guess that it is in Texas due to the mention of Abiline and Fort Smith), with Matilda's (Matt) father Gene on his death bed extracting a promise from Logan and Matt that they marry upon his death. And they did. What followed was a very unconventional and sizzling hot courtship betwen Logan and Matt as they take to their new roles as husband and wife.

That alone would have been a great story. But author Lynda Bailey still had a surprise for us, something that was hinted in the beginning of the book. Again, in the Wild West tradition, outlaws entered the picture providing another adrenaline rush in the story.

Great story telling, realistic characters from that era who were developed skillfully by the author. But, I am only giving this book 4 stars because of the use of some words that I am unsure if they belong to the 19th century. Those were few and far between, but they were so jarring that though no matter how engrossed I was in the story, I lose concentration. If those words were substituted with the more appropriate terms for that era, then this would have been a perfect 5.

This book is rated M for Mature due to sexual content and violence.
